Google ads will never overspend the account budget but campaigns can spend up to 100% over
the set daily budget which poses problems in managing daily/weekly/monthly spend, especially if your account is using a credit line.
Some may say "Google will only spend above your daily budget if there is opportunity" and whilst this may be true, you may be planning to upwright spend at a certain time of the month due to a seasonal promotion or you simply want to control how much you're spending on a daily basis.
At AP Scripts with have built a solution that aims to give that power back to the advertisers by monitor campaign spend vs set daily budget. If campaign spend exceeds daily budget it will send an email notification and/or pause the campaign activity.
I have added the following functionality:
Set overspend buffers: You may want to let Google overspend if there is opportunity, but maybe not 100% over your set daily budget. Use this feature to control the overspend.
Pause campaigns: If set to "true" this will pause the campaigns flagged as overspending and reactivate them the next day.
